What is Lymphedema?

The lymphatic system moves approximately 3 litres of blood throughout the body per day. This is done through the blood vessels as part of the bloods flow cleaning and filtering system. This process can be compromised due to cancer, surgery, injuries and other causes. When compromised an accumulation of lymph fluid develops in tissue and swelling occurs usually in the extremities.

This is known as Lymphedema.
